Aidan Coleman has published three collections of poetry and his work has appeared in Best Australian Poems, Poetry Ireland Review, Glasgow Review of Books, Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, and Virginia Quarterly Review. His most recent book of poems, Mount Sumptuous (2020), is published by Wakefield Press. He is currently writing a biography of the poet John Forbes.

Have you forgotten who we were 
            when the cheques wrote white? 
     
     The quiet happiness of Son 
             or Del in ankle-clipping delight.

      Kane sawing the air so often, 
      you thought the remote was broken 

      and Erikson, 
like a fluent iceberg,

before the ball (booted into a dark railyard) was returned 
     to the wrong stadium.
