A Quote for Your Future (haiku Chain)

A wise man once said:
Let your hopes & not your hurts,
Now shape your future

Can we instead learn
Forgiveness, patience & love
And let those hurts go

I am still trying
To learn & also let go
Even at this age

I still need to learn
This fine art of letting go
There's still room to grow

Thankfully there's time
To keep learning these lessons
'Til the day I die

Like caterpillars
Change into the butterflies
I, too, will transform

Hold onto my friends
But mostly hold onto me
And learn to fly free

Free from all my hurts
Living instead in my hopes
Know this future's HERE

LIKE THE HUMMINGBIRD’S WINGS

My wings are a blur
Yet very real.
Flapping so furiously
Just a blur.

Sometimes I'll stop & sit.
Can you see me?
Or am I still just a blur.

I have some bright color.
I know I'm beautiful.
Or am I still just a blur.

This is how I am,
Tiny with such small wings,
Flapping furiously.
My wings are strong.
And very effective.
Do you see that?
Or am I just a blur?

I sit wary, watchful, so cautious to not lose what's mine.
And chase everyone else away.
This is what I've learned to do.
I know you can see that.
I know you can see me.
Or am I just a blur?

Somehow, in spite of what's been ingrained in me,
To flap furiously with wings that are a blur...
Hovering & darting place to place...
One has seen me.
Starting with that colored brightness I have,
My beauty has been seen.
I'm not just a blur.
And I see you, too.
