THE GHOST OF LUKE KELLY The ghost of Luke Kelly Is haunting this room As I lift the lager And hear his banjo trilling On the wind; His voice gutting The meanderings of birds outside And the silence of this room That is slowly closing in As I wait for the real and final rain To fall. The ghost of Luke Kelly Like a mosquito in my ear As I crash to the bed And struggle … Continue reading John Tustin

J Michael Tynan

J Michael Tynan hails from Cork City, Ireland. He spends most of my time in the wilds of Co Clare with his partner Caroline, opinionated lakeland terrier Joey, cats Scomber Scombrus and Marmalade and a mob of 16 chickens (not counting the recent shock arrival of 14 chicks). Every day must have some fun… writing plays a big part, as does rowing traditional Irish boats (currachs), which have transported him to the mystical Mag Mells of Ireland, the Grand Canal in Venice, and the Camino coast in Spain. He worked for 40 years at the Irish Examiner newspaper as a … Continue reading J Michael Tynan

Ken Weene

Sometimes Ken Weene writes to exorcise demons. Sometimes he writes because the characters in his head demand to be heard. Sometimes he writes because he thinks what he has to say might amuse or even on occasion inform. Mostly, however, he writes because it is a cheaper addiction than drugs, an easier exercise than going to the gym, and a more sociable outlet than sitting at McDonald’s drinking coffee with other old farts: in brief because it keeps him just a bit younger and more alive. Ken’s stories and poetry have appeared in numerous publications and he has a number … Continue reading Ken Weene
