Dangerous Dreaming at the Perfect Pool
The palm tree sways in the wind gently over the pool. She drinks in the sunshine by day. At night, She plays hide and seek with Venus. The waxing or waning moon is out of her grasp. Sometimes the the mysterious moon Wears a veil of clouds like a flirtatious bride Beaming under her veil of transparent white. I see all of this beauty while I float on my back , like a feather fluttering free in the sky. One hot sizzling sunny day, I am floating on my back in turquoise cool water. I am on painkillers in a mental fog that leads me, To sweet dizzying dreams. I transcend the welcoming waters for the pool. I am now on my ex-boyfriend's water bed. I wake up from this vivid dream, When my drugged up body Brushes against the side of the perfect pool, Still floating on my back, Like a raft drifting with the tide. Oh my God! I could have drowned Under the placid palm tree where The wind has now vanished like a ghost! Tonight when the stunning stars come out, I will bring something to float on, before I let myself slumber in the Cool comfortable waters of the pool again. The pool where the pure white lake ducks sometimes come to visit.
Rain Storm (Pantoum Poem)
The droplets of rain swiftly fall. No swimming in the pool today. The lightning flashes bright in the sky. At least the grass will grow green. No swimming in the pool today. The pool man will not have to add water. At least the grass will grow green. If you leave your car out, it will get clean. The pool man will not have to add water. The rain comes down harder and harder. If you leave your car out it will get clean. Let's hope the road doesn't end up looking like a stream. No need to watch a laser light show tonight. The lightning flashes bright in the sky. No need to water the plants at all. The droplets of rain swiftly fall.
The Portal
I long to ride like a forest fire is on our heels. I long to gallop on a horse called Faith, through fields of clover and daisies, knowing that I can treasure and trust, the illumination of your mesmerizing smile Swiftly off we will go, In the stunning golden sunset, in the mysterious moonlight, Along the shores of paradise, like a dream never ending, like a portal to love and light.
