Rathlin

Silence permeates souls,
briefly.
Guillemots and gannets harmonising with the sea,
share songs on the breeze.
Irish hares spar,
amidst baying livestock.
All framed between flashing guardians.

Mirroring the ocean,
clouds travel as languid waves,
unleashing shade or rain below.
When permitted,
the sun returns and dries the land,
and those thereon.

Then there is only wind,
and peaceful thoughts,
again.
and residents stoically,
resiliently,
gratefully,
living,
go about their day.
